All retailers and professional business people who are members of the SDC Jean-Talon get to benefit from numerous advantages. In addition to developing the notability of each business, the SDC also seeks to achieve the following:
 

• Set up and sustain the necessary committees required to develop and implement programs that will boost our commercial artery (such as side walk sales, Christmas Festivities, Networking activities, Street Cleaning Program, Crime Prevention, Traffic Planning, etc).
• Create promotional documents that will enable our members to get more exposure.
• Promote the area through targeted marketing, advertisement, and other special promotions.
• Represent the common interests of our members at the different governmental levels.
• Carry out specific studies (investigations, consumer polls, market research)
• Improve the commercial mix of our 1.7 km shopping strip.
• To negotiate the preferential rates on credit card processing terminals in order to pass down savings to all members on their operational costs.
• In partnership with la CREC de Saint-Léonard, we will be able to offer Consulting Services to our members as well as direct them in their search for funds.
• Offer training programs on topics such as Marketing, Resource Management, Window Dressing, etc.
• Collaborating with outside partners on various projects beneficial to the growth of our SDC (environmental projects, Programme Réussir à Montréal)
• Offering members further exposure through our SDC’s interactive website.
